Job Summary
Responsible for maintaining and fostering strategic relationships with United Way agencies to maintain and increase allocations to support Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council’s mission. Oversee departmental publications, small stewardship events and develop funding alliances and pursue opportunities to build partnerships and foster donor relationships to support the mission within the framework of council policies, standards, goals, objectives and budget.
Job Qualifications
• Manage a portfolio of 30-40 organizations, foundations and individuals.
• Act as Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council’s liaison to the United Way agencies.
o Write, receive approval, and submit United Way proposals and supplementary funding opportunities by or before deadlines
o Attend United Way meetings within Southeast Texas in order to meet funding requirements and strengthen relationships (annual meetings, campaign kick-offs, campaign goal celebrations, volunteer appreciation events)
o Manage site visits and solicitation/budget hearing meetings, including local staff support and key speaker invitations
o Attend UW mandatory proposal meetings
o Coordinate UW contract signatures, compliance documents, agency agreements, etc.
o Accurately prepare interim reports with outcomes, including quarterly reports, mid-year reports, and other items as requested
o Conduct speaking engagements for agency fairs, campaign meetings, community meetings, etc.
o Coordinate with field staff for success stories, areas of interest, areas of improvement, etc.
o Serve as personal interface with foundation representatives on grant status as requested within outlying communities
• Coordinate and manage the staff annual giving campaign.
• Manage donor publications including annual donor Impact Report, Connections and Golden Link.
• Manage biannual review and on-going management of development website content.
• Maintain Development Department supplies and tokens of appreciation for staff use.
• Manage small cultivation and stewardship events including:
o Connect and Converse (4-6 annually)
o Raising Awesome Girls (1-2 annually)
o Juliette Gordon Low Luncheon
• Safeguard the confidentiality of donor information at all times.
• Assist in development and implementation of annual development budget and strategic plan.
• Sustain strong working partnerships with volunteers, staff members, the board of directors and the community.
• Provide support to the Development Director, Foundations and Corporations, the Chief External Affairs Officer, and others within the department as needed.
• Attend Development events.
• Assist in implementation of fundraising projects as directed.
