Location/Division Specific Information: Join our team as a Lead Warehouse Worker in the Agawam, MA distribution center supporting our Customer Channels Group (CCG). The impact could be anything from delivering products that help a scientist discover a cure for cancer to helping a nurse care for a patient optimally because they have the right equipment. As the Lead, perform daily work functions while assisting the supervisor in meeting the departmental productivity, quality, service and financial goals. A Day in the Life: Responsible for the daily distribution activities, productivity and quality within assigned department (receiving, picking, packing, shipping, inventory control). Provide leadership assistance with the daily operation of the department to meet all daily objectives. Assist employees with exceptions and problem resolution to ensure accuracy within the department. Coordinate with Supervisor to ensure that staffing levels are appropriate to meet department and launch time goals. Organize and direct workflow for the department when supervisor is unavailable. Provide instructions about standard operating procedures, material handling equipment and help in resolving problems. Train temporary employees and new hires. Assist in maintaining a safe, injury-free work environment. Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience: General warehouse experience is preferred. Familiarity with operating powered industrial trucks, particularly order pickers preferred. Demonstrated leadership experience is highly desirable Experience in handling hazardous materials (chemicals) is a plus Proficiency with computers and scanning equipment. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail Desire to work within a team, but also able to work independently and solve problems quickly Ability to read and write in English Physical Requirements / Work Environment Ability to stand and move about the warehouse for significant periods of time (involving walking, stooping, bending, and reaching) required Ability to lift, carry, and push up to 70 lbs frequently and 100 lbs occasionally Compensation Competitive Hourly Pay Rate Additional shift differential for 2nd shift positions Annual performance-based bonus Annual merit performance-based increase
