What you will do

• Support lifing systems and structural analysis tools to enable safe, reliable designs.

• Aid in vibration, fatigue, and fracture mechanics tasks to support Module Centers customers on structural engineering of new designs, engine development plans, and production / field issues.

• Maintain trust of regulatory and military customers with respect to structural integrity through consistent teaming, communication, and reporting.

• Support product regulatory certification to meet customer needs.

• Structural Validation Data Management.

• Pre/Post Test Data Processing & Fatigue Analysis support.

• Engineering expertise in fatigue, fracture mechanics, burst.

• English (read, write, speak) is required when communicating with customers, co-workers, or supervisors who only speak English.

  What You Will Learn

  Pratt & Whitney’s Puerto Rico Core Discipline Engineering (Core Structures) is looking for a motivated coop student to join our team. We lead the analysis, research & development of structural engineering specification involving metals, non-metallic or composite structural materials for product design, or operation of product to include structures, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronics, power plant, armament, heating & ventilating, equipment & maintenance designs through understanding of damage tolerance, durability, design allowable, and structural modeling. We provide our expertise to support internal & external customers on structural engineering of new designs, engine development plans, and production & field issues.

  Engineering Interns at Pratt & Whitney work on challenging, meaningful, and impactful projects across our business. Our intern program seeks to help you develop an understanding of the aerospace industry and learn about our company and its operations.

  Qualifications You Must Have

• Senior student enrolled in a degree program in Mechanical, Structural or Aerospace Engineering

• Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship.

• Minimum GPA of 3.0

  Preferred Qualifications:

• Gas turbine experience

• Strong analytical thinking, communication, interpersonal, time management and organizational skills

• Team oriented and cultural awareness

• The ability to craft clear communication and build positive relationships

• Excellent communication and presentation skills
