Sodexo Director of Supply Chain in Akron, Ohio

Role Overview

Sodexo is currently seeking a Director of Supply Chain for University Hospitals Health System in Cleveland, OH. This role is responsible for leading the strategic sourcing process and management of non - medical purchasing and regional distribution/service contracts at University Hospitals.

The ideal candidate will possess strong negotiation skills along with the ability to understand service agreements and sub-contracts, financial statements, client contractual vendor requirements, key performance indicators and associated potential financial penalties. This individual will have experience with data-based information systems, the ability to manage and oversee RFP processes and the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate within all levels of the organizations.

This position is a hybrid role , providing the right candidate the opportunity to work remotely in a home office 1-2 days per week, while spending 3-4 days per week in an office.

What You'll Do

  • Continually evaluate and improve procurement practices with expertise in sourcing for managed categories, budgeting and forecasting of supply chain revenue, analysis of spend to identify opportunities within non-contracted areas and ensuring a strategic sourcing process is fully implemented across all categories.

  • Lead Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Pricing (RFP) events, including preparation of bids, evaluation of bid proposals, and pricing negotiations.

  • Effectively collaborate with leaders across all levels of organizations to identify opportunities for development of products and/or services that yield cost savings and revenue generation.

  • Negotiate Supplier Agreements that deliver value, including best price, service, quality and conditions, while also aligning to the organizational goals and savings strategies.

  • Manage supplier relationships through Business Reviews to ensure compliance with supply agreement terms and conditions and to strategize on new opportunities that deliver value to the organization.

What You Bring

  • Experience with Service Level Agreements; components of a Statement of Work; and Purchase Order Processes.

  • Strong negotiation skills as demonstrated by past historical success.

  • Significant, broad knowledge and technical expertise in managed categories in order to achieve results.

  • Understanding of commodity, labor and market indices that drive the cost basis for effective category management strategies.

  • Understanding of contract terms, including but not limited to Insurance and Indemnification, termination clauses, audit provisions, and federal laws applicable to the contract.

  • Significant knowledge of RFI and RFP processes, and detailed scope of work generation to ensure an accurate bid response from qualified bidding parties.

  • Intermediate to advanced skill level with Excel Spreadsheets, Word and PowerPoint. Smartsheet a plus.

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

Minimum Management Experience - 5 years

Minimumc Functional Experience - 5 years of experience in purchasing or related field
