The Opportunity

This position works out of our Alameda, CA location within the ADC Division. Our mission is to empower people with diabetes to manage their health through innovative products that deliver precise data for better decision-making. We're transforming glucose monitoring with our cutting-edge sensing technology.

Provide technical and analytical support for customs and trade compliance matters at the site/division level, ensuring compliance with all relevant customs regulations and trade laws and regulations, including 19CFR, 15CFR, FDA, USDA, and other US regulatory agency requirements.

What You’ll Work On

  • Internal audit of export and import transactions - conduct effective and timely transactional review/audit of all import/export records.

  • Applies working knowledge of import/export regulations and requirements to support business needs.

  • Ensure proper classification, valuation and origin determination for the site’s imported goods, including non-commercial goods.

  • Elevate issues requiring correction to Corporate C&TC.

  • As directed by Supervisor/Manager, implement appropriate corrective actions in response to any findings in the Corporate C&TC compliance assessment.

  • Incumbent is accountable for compliant importation and exportation of goods and services, including proper classification and valuation.

  • Must have the ability to analyze opportunities and make recommendations on options and/or alternatives to achieve divisional financial objectives.

  • Prepare reports and make recommendations to management, as appropriate.

  • Consolidate and analyze import/export data to identify risks for remediation or opportunities for savings.

  • Provide analytical support related to CBP Requests for Information, Post-Entry Amendments and Prior Disclosures.

  • Ensure timely and accurate response to Broker Requests for Information and follow-up to ensure resolution.

  • Provide analytical support to general import/export-related projects, as needed.

  • Interface with related functional areas (logistics, purchasing, materials management, etc.) on customs matters and coordinate training for personnel in these areas, as needed.

  • Operates with general direction and supervision from the Supervisor/Manager.

  • Continuous learning on latest Customs, FDA, and other government agency regulations impacting US import and export requirements.

  • The proper balance between cost optimization and compliance must be maintained.

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. in Business, logistics/transportation, or other related field preferred.

  • Or an equivalent combination of education and work experience

  • Minimum 2-3 years' experience in import/export operations, international business, or other related field.

  • Sound analytical abilities and acute attention to detail required.

  • Effective communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills are absolutely critical for this position. Ability to balance multiple priorities simultaneously and manage time appropriately.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Licensed Customs Broker or Certified Customs Specialist preferred.

The base pay for this position is $79,500.00 – $138,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
