Our client is a non-profit located in Albany that offers social services and support for our local diverse communities. The client is looking for candidates that work well with different types of people of all orientations. A personal mode of transportation is required to travel to events. Position Overview:Our client is seeking a Community Engagement Specialist to provide culturally competent outreach, education, and HIV/AIDS testing for communities at risk for HIV/AIDS. Candidates for this roll should possess knowledge and sensitivity of the target population and be comfortable with public outreach. Responsibilities:•Conduct culturally competent outreach and education to people of all ethnicities and orientations•Provide HIV and HCV testing and counseling services (Proficiency required)•Organize and participate in community events to promote awareness and education•Collaborate with team members, clients, and other stakeholders to develop effective outreach strategies•Networking and relationship building•Maintain accurate records and documentation of outreach activitiesQualifications:•Associate’s Degree preferred, Bachelor’s is a plus •Minimum one year of social type work with a diverse array of individuals•Experience in education, case work, crisis intervention, and/or social services•Time management skills and ability to multi-task•Networking, relationship building, communication, and customer service skills•Ability to create and deliver effective educational content tailored to a diverse audience•Bilingual skills (Spanish, Haitian Creole) are highly desirable and preferred•Comfortable providing community outreach in public (bars, colleges, events, etc.)If you meet the qualifications and are interested in this position, apply today or call (518)452-7090!
