Minimum Qualifications Permanent transfer candidates: Current Department of Health(DOH) employee with permanent or contingent-permanent status as a Health Systems Specialist 1 (G18); OR current NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service in a title eligible to transfer under Section 52.6, Section 70.1, or Section 70.4 of the Civil Service Law to a Health Systems Specialist 1 (G18), Health Systems Specialist Trainee 1 (NS), or Health Systems Specialist Trainee 2 (NS). Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite, eMedNY, and the New York State Health Commerce System (HCS).
Duties Description Within the Program Implementation Unit, the incumbent will assist with the development and implementation of policies governing New York State’s Medicaid managed care program, specifically in the area of medical coverage. Specific responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, analysis of program requirements and development of program policy; responding to inquiries from managed care organizations, providers, and advocates; development and distribution of technical assistance documents; and participation in inter- and intra-agency workgroups. Assist with scheduled monthly and quarterly Bureau sponsored meetings as required.
