Lionbridge Technologies Part-time Technical Writer (Testing Equipment Procedures) in Albany, New York

Location: Remote/Work From Home (WFH), Cupertino, CA Area (20 hours a week)

Lionbridge is on the lookout for an experienced Technical Writer to join our team and make a significant impact by working with our prestigious client based in Cupertino, CA. This is a fantastic part-time opportunity for a talented writer who thrives on creating clear, concise, and engaging technical documentation.

About the Role

As a Technical Writer with Lionbridge, you will collaborate closely with our client’s team, a global leader in technology, to produce and update procedural testing articles designed for a testing engineer audience. Your work will ensure that all content is accurate, adheres to quality guidelines, and meets the high standards of our client. You’ll play a crucial role in translating complex technical procedures into simple, user-friendly documentation that includes photography and videos.

What You Will Do

  • Create and Update Technical Content: Develop and refine procedural testing documents, ensuring clarity, consistency, and technical accuracy.

  • Collaborate with Experts: Work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather information and ensure the technical integrity of all documentation.

  • Maintain Quality Standards: Ensure that all content adheres to client and departmental standards for tone, voice, grammar, formatting, and accuracy.

  • Communicate Effectively: Use tools like email and Slack to manage content assignments, provide updates, and collaborate with the client’s team.

  • Manage Time and Assignments: Track your time spent on assignments and report to the Lionbridge team lead, ensuring all tasks are completed on schedule.

  • Provide Constructive Feedback: Review and provide feedback on documentation to ensure continuous improvement.

To Be Successful You Will Have

  • Minimum 3 Years of Experience: At least three years of proven experience in technical writing, specifically focused on hardware testing documentation.

  • Engineering Background: A background in engineering, either through formal education or significant experience in creating technical documentation for engineering projects.

  • Technical Expertise: Experience with mechanical components, testing equipment, and reliability testing, with a strong understanding of hardware testing processes.

  • Tool Proficiency: Proficiency with ticketing systems like JIRA.

  • Collaborative and Independent: Strong communication skills to work effectively with team members and subject matter experts, with the ability to manage multiple projects independently.

  • Flexibility: Availability to travel to the client location in Cupertino for occasional meetings, approximately once a month or every other month.
