University at Albany Student Success Program Analyst in Albany, New York

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform operational data analysis as requested by the Vice Provost and unit leaders, e.g.,

  • Support major grant-funded initiatives, including the multi-campus LS-AMP and HHMI EXCEL in STEM awards

  • Address data requests related to National Institute for Student Success Review process

  • Prepare Academic Recovery Program data reports

  • Aggregate data & generate daily reports and weekly summaries on unit-wide processes, e.g.,

  • Withdrawal and readmission

  • Retention initiatives

  • Re-enrollment campaigns

  • Identify emerging patterns in operational data on student success interventions across Academic Innovation and Student Success in:

  • Academic Advising

  • Academic Recovery

  • Early Alerts/Cases

  • Learning Commons - Tutoring/Supplemental Instruction/HHMI

  • EOP

  • Student Engagement

  • High Impact Practices

  • Special Populations - Transfer and Online

  • Update data and reporting for AISS operational processes, including withdrawal, readmission, microgrants, and the Academic Recovery Program.

  • Develop data inquiries related to student activity - data analytics (end of semester & year-round), e.g.,

  • Academic standing

  • Dean's List

  • Retention data

  • Microgrant data

  • Re-enrollment campaign data

  • Progress reports

  • Course enrollment

  • JotForm data/Weekly JotForm report

  • Withdrawal data/Daily withdrawal updates

  • Develop accessible dashboards for AISS data tables, reports, and graphics.

  • Prepare presentation materials in support of unit updates for internal and external use, e.g.,

  • Updates to AISS 5-year annual report

  • President's and Provost's Listening and Learning Tours

  • AISS annual retreat

  • Create and update form & workflow processes in JotForm to support unit-wide processes

  • Provide operational support for Undergraduate Education academic processes, including but not limited to:

  • Academic program registration and accreditation

  • Transfer articulation

  • Academic standing/dismissal

  • Reenrollment campaigns

  • Microgrant awards

  • Collaborate within AISS to provide support for data collection, process, and operational analysis

  • Provide data to support unit budget requests

  • Prepare data reports and visual representations for inclusion in grant applications

  • Oversee graduate students and/or student assistants in updating operational data

    Job Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized accrediting organization

  • 3-4 years related work experience in a higher education environment

  • Experience working with large data sets, developing queries, and merging data sets.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and PowerPoint

  • Proficiency in IAS/Peoplesoft, EAB Navigate, Business Intelligence programs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with: Power BI, SPSS, Tableau

    Additional Information:

Professional Rank and Salary Grade: Senior Staff Assistant, SL-3, $60,000-$65,000
