Job Title: CNC Machinist/Programmer 35+HOURLY (not entry-level)
Monday - Thursday Day Shift with a 5:30AM start time
Job Description
The CNC Machinist/Programmer provides programming and support for lathes and mills (mainly lathes) by creating CNC programs through MasterCam, or conversationally when possible, at the machine tool to machine parts to customer specifications. This role also involves acting as a project manager, offering technical support to team members through interpretation and analysis of data and specifications. The candidate must be willing to perform machining duties up to 50% of the job.
Responsibilities
Create programs for CNC Machine Tools using Mastercam.
Determine necessary cutting tools to machine and create tool lists as well as setup sheets.
Work with tooling manufacturers to optimize programs while testing and trialing innovative tools per customer project.
Manage jobs utilizing MS Office, and communicate deliverables to team members outside of the department.
Troubleshoot new and legacy CNC system processes, including fixtures, tooling, and G and M code programs to support manufacturing.
Assist in developing efficient manufacturing process plans with manufacturing and quality personnel.
Contribute to Non-Conformance Report (NCR), root cause, and corrective action resolutions.
Participate in continuous improvement events.
Properly interpret engineering drawings, specifications, sketches, solid models, and other documentation.
Design holding fixtures and form tooling to maximize manufacturing efficiency at minimal cost.
Ensure parts are to schedule with consistent quality to meet defense and customer requirements.
Support procedures to control and standardize manufacturing processes.
Respond efficiently, effectively, and timely to customer engineering changes and requests.
Support cost estimates for products, tooling, equipment, and processes for pricing and improved production.
Work well with others as a team member.
Lead others, set clear goals, and establish direction.
Maintain a clean, well-ordered work environment using 5S methodology.
Work independently with minimal direction.
Use safe practices and maintain a safe working environment.
Perform job duties meeting requirements of defense and customers.
Comply with policy and procedure requirements.

Essential Skills
Proficiency in Mastercam for programming CNC machines.
Ability to interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, sketches, and solid models.
Experience in troubleshooting CNC system processes, including fixtures, tooling, and G and M code programs.
Strong mechanical and programming skills.
Experience in machine operating and CNC machining.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ability to manage jobs using MS Office.
Experience in designing holding fixtures and form tooling.
Capability to lead and work well with team members.
Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies.
Experience with Non-Conformance Reports (NCR), root cause analysis, and corrective action resolutions.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00
