Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Biller and Coder with expertise in managing accounts receivable. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately coding medical records, processing claims, and ensuring timely reimbursement, and denials from insurance companies and patients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Medical Billing and Coding:

  • Accurately assign CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes based on medical documentation.
  • Submit electronic and paper claims to insurance providers.
  • Review denied claims and resubmit with proper documentation.

• Accounts Receivable Management:

  • Monitor and follow up on unpaid claims.
  • Post payments from insurance companies and patients.
  • Communicate with insurance carriers to resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare and send out patient statements and invoices.
  • The ability to complete collection calls in a timely manner.

• Compliance and Documentation:

  • Ensure adherence to all HIPAA regulations and billing compliance standards.
  • Maintain accurate and organized patient billing records.
  • Keep up-to-date with changes in coding guidelines and reimbursement policies.

Qualifications:

• Certification in Medical Billing and Coding (e.g., CPC, CCS, or equivalent). Preferred but not required.
• Proven experience in medical billing, coding, and accounts receivable.
• Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes.
• Proficiency in medical billing software Silicon Mesa.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Family practice, specialty clinic.
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance policies.
• Bilingual skills are a plus.
