Superintendent Building Maintenance, Maintenance of Public Buildings
Annual Salary Range: $55,792.93 - $66,960.19 Grade: 31 (Employee: 7% on your current salary, whichever is greater; or 10.5% on your current salary, whichever is greater, if position is 3 grades or higher than current position) Appointment to a position in the classified service shall be at the minimum of the corresponding pay range unless otherwise approved.
Examination is announced to establish an employment list to fill vacancies in the Maintenance of Public Buildings Department to perform technical tasks at the managerial level directing and coordinating the operations of the Maintenance of Public Buildings Department and contracted companies whose work includes maintenance and repair of the City's buildings and facilities and capital projects. Establishes a systematic process for managing the maintenance, repair, and rental of the buildings and facilities; conducts worksite visits to monitor work in progress on all building maintenance and construction projects; makes modifications as necessary in construction plans.

The purpose of this classification is to perform
technical tasks at the managerial level directing and coordinating the operations of the Maintenance of Public Buildings Department and contracted companies whose work includes maintenance and repair of the City's buildings and facilities and capital projects.
- Minimum Applicant Qualifications: High School diploma or GED, with vocational, technical, or college coursework in Construction Management or a related field;
- Bachelor's degree is preferred; supplemented by five (5) years of progressively responsible supervisory experience in building and facility maintenance and construction; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
- May require specialized certifications and/or training as deemed necessary.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Will be required to obtain a valid State of Louisiana driver's license at time of appointment and maintain throughout employment for this classification.
