Amentum has an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineer - Low Voltage Systems to join their team in Alice Springs, NT - Australia.

The Role

The Position

The Electrical Engineer – Low Voltage Systems is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization’s Low- voltage, Audio-Visual (A/V) infrastructure and Security systems. This role involves ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of the organization's data and systems, while also providing support for Low-voltage services. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills in both Low-voltage and Security systems ranging from structured cabling systems, active networks, WLAN, electronic access control, perimeter intrusion detection, as well as a deep understanding of best practices and industry standards.

Additionally, the Electrical Engineer – LV Systems is responsible for the con

trol and management of major projects, training and mentorship of lower-level employees, and user guidance on all implemented solutions. The Electrical Engineer – LV Systems must have a broad strategic focus with the ability to advise and make decisions on behalf of senior management regarding issues that impact the organization as a whole. In addition to acting as the organization’s subject matter expert, the ideal candidate must be able to anticipate and mitigate risks to the organization, facilitate stakeholder cooperation in an effort toward achieving strategic goals, and communicate across all business units and customer groups to assist seamless integration of systems.

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Develop & Design technical architecture solutions for emerging technologies. Implement refined product designs. Manage integration into current technologies

  • Supervise small teams on project deployments and other technical staff and provide technical assistance

  • Identify opportunities & provide technical solutions for functional problems

  • Prepare and present test plans, technical overviews and analysis

  • Collaborate with all teams to ensure a robust and repeatable solution

  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions

  • Document architecture and design of the implemented solution

  • Provide, present & support technical advice for external project integrators

  • Modify and design new systems to meet operational requirements

  • Create/update technical documentation and user manuals

  • Ensure, promote, and maintain health and safety practices/compliances at site and within the workplace.

  • Any other reasonable duties as requested

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent working experience

  • Field: Electrical Engineering or relevant or related discipline

Desirable

  • Electrical Engineer skillset across Low-voltage and Security applications and systems

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Minimum Essential

  • 3-7 years’ experience in a relevant field

  • Experience and knowledge with Electronic Access Control Security systems

  • Experience with electronic access control hardware devices

  • Experience with software applications and databases

  • Experience and knowledge of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA)

  • Demonstrated understanding of EHS procedures

  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot issues and develop innovative solutions to problems

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with varied stakeholders

  • Experience with MS Officer operating system and implementations techniques

Desirable

  • Experience and knowledge of Cisco Network systems and all sub-components including VoIP

  • Experience with VMware environments

  • Experience Building Management Systems

  • Experience with permitter intrusion security system

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands

  • Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 10kgs, kneeling, standing and walking, routinely sitting and constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, and must be able to work under deadlines.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT POSITION DESCRIPTION

Position Description-ENG ICT System Solutions Architect Page 3 of 3 It is a condition of employment that employees obtain and retain the appropriate level of security clearance and medical clearance applicable to each role. The employee will require a Top-Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) Department of Defence Security Clearance (Australian) or TS/SCI (U.S.) clearance w/ Poly.

STATEMENT OF WORK REQUIREMENTS

All personnel assigned shall be:

• At least 18 years of age.

• Able to fluently read, write and speak English

EHS REQUIREMENT
