Robert Half Category Manager in Allentown, Pennsylvania

Description We are seeking a Category Manager located in Allentown, Pennsylvania, to join our team. In this role, you will manage the supply chain specifically for utility electric and gas operations, conduct negotiations, and perform market, price, and financial analysis. This role offers a long term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the supply chain for utility electric and gas operations, ensuring efficient processes and high-quality services.

• Conduct competitive bid events to secure the best resources and services for the company.

• Develop and maintain detail oriented relationships with suppliers and partners, adhering to the highest ethical business practices.

• Conduct negotiations on complex contracts, working closely with the Office of General Counsel to incorporate appropriate levels of commercial protection.

• Perform market and financial analysis to determine business risks associated with a supplier or contract.

• Track and manage supplier performance, ensuring that they meet the company's standards and expectations.

• Report cost savings and drive continuous improvement and productivity with suppliers and customers.

• Act as a primary liaison to suppliers within assigned categories.

• Provide guidance and direction to other team members to support high-quality, timely, and cost-effective resource acquisition activities.

• Stay updated with the market drivers, supplier base, emerging technologies, regulatory factors, category spend by supplier, inventory supplier, and fill rate performance. Requirements • Proven experience in Category Management or similar role

• Proficient in customer service with a focus on providing exceptional experiences

• Demonstrable experience in operations and policy-making

• Commitment to quality assurance and implementation of best practices

• Knowledgeable in contract negotiation and supervising teams

• Proficient in pricing strategies and negotiation tactics

• Strong liaison and communication skills

• Proven ability to enhance productivity within a team

• Basic understanding of engineering principles and practices

• Experience in managing relationships with partners and suppliers

• Strong financial analysis and buying processes skills

• Knowledge of supply chain logistics and the ability to provide guidance when necessary

• Experience with onsite management and acquisitions

• Ability to drive continuous improvement within the organization

• Proficient in conducting market analysis

• Understanding of legal issues related to the role

• Proven track record in achieving cost savings for the organization.
