Job Description:

The Product Application Engineer – Electric Power is part of the Caterpillar Switchgear Americas Technical Sales team within the Automatic Transfer Switch Business, specifically focused on dealers, other Caterpillar units, designers, customers, and suppliers to maximize transfer switch sales in a specific region by developing technical proposals based on the combination of technical expertise and sales skills. The focus is creating value added selling strategies and proposals in response to individual sales opportunities during the early stages of project development through the bidding stage.

This role will be expected to develop/have a deep level of knowledge of Automatic Transfer Switch products and their application in low voltage AC power systems (systems ≤600V). An overall understanding of low voltage AC electrical systems, and the criteria for equipment selections is a desired expertise.

What you will do:

• Provide product application support to dealers and the Systems Territory Specialists (outside sales team).

• Analyze and determine the optimum technical/commercial solution for individual project applications; develop written proposals and organize product drawings and support materials as needed to support project opportunities.

• Influence customers through technical expertise in order to increase price realization and market penetration.

• Train, assist and guide dealers to achieve higher engagement, and promote Caterpillar Transfer Switch products as a part of complete Cat power generation solutions.

• Analyze market intelligence and keeping up to date on market movements and technology development.

Technical Excellence: Knowledge of AC electrical power systems, or experience in applying electrical products in AC power systems.

Summary Pay Range:

$95,640.00 - $143,520.00
