The Walt Disney Company Category Manager in Anaheim, California

About the Role & Team

The team supports the sourcing of facilities & operational services, pyrotechnics; and print services for Disneyland and Aulani. The primary focus of this position is to support the acquisition of facilities & operational services, pyrotechnics; and print services needed at the Disneyland Resort in addition to providing analytical and technical solutions support. What You Will Do

  • Ensure compliance with Strategic Sourcing policies and standard processes.

  • Continually assess market conditions and develop procurement strategies that improve value to the Company.

  • Prepare Request for Proposals as needed in support of facilities & operational services, pyrotechnics; and print services for Disneyland and Aulani

  • Conduct pre-bid meetings and job walks as needed.

  • Lead structured supplier negotiations and Supplier Relationship Management reviews..

  • Use price & cost analysis. Analyze proposals through use of spreadsheets, including weighted evaluations of non-pricing criteria.

  • Prepare service agreements as needed

  • Review contract issues with legal department.

  • Monitor projects to confirm contract compliance.

  • Assist in resolution of payment problems.

  • Assist in resolution of contract disputes or claims.

  • Cultivate, women, and veteran owned business opportunities and apply capabilities to operational requirements.

  • Maintain all records, documents, correspondence, and materials related to any sourcing activity in an understandable format such that files can be readily audited.

  • Report status of project initiatives in a concise and timely manner to management.

  • Analyze market trends and conditions that affect suppliers, cost of goods, pricing, and the resulting impact on clients.

  • Research and implement “standard processes” for procurement, including supporting technologies related to sourcing commodities.

  • Participate in professional development activities to stay ahead of current industry best practices.

  • Demonstrate outstanding integrity and ethics in all instances.

  • Develop and analyze sourcing data to develop reporting, project analysis, and industry trends.

  • Develop understanding of Disney systems to gather data required for reporting and analysis.

  • Handle large amounts of data and summarize findings.

  • Develop, implement, monitor and report status, performance measures that demonstrate value and ensure supplier performance.

  • Assist with AOP development; forecast and track AOP and monthly reporting.

  • Where needed, provide support on projects related to sourcing platforms or systems.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 5+ years of sourcing and procurement experience with at least one of those years preferably in services sourcing. Pyrotechnics and or Entertainment experience.

  • Proven strong analytical skills with data analysis background.

  • Proficiency in MS-Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Financial analysis

  • Working knowledge of Coupa and SAP preferred. High level Excel skills.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Construction, Finance or equivalent experience

The hiring range for this position in Anaheim, California is $124,800 to $152,400 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
