Overview

UIC Sanatu seeks an Operations Manager. The qualified candidate will provide leadership to other Managers, Supervisors, and support personnel.

An Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all operational activities within an organization, ensuring efficient and smooth running by managing staff, optimizing processes, maintaining quality standards, and implementing strategic improvements to maximize productivity and achieve organizational goals; key duties include hiring and training employees, monitoring performance metrics, identifying and resolving operational issues, and managing budgets to maintain cost-effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Planning and Management:

  • Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency and effectiveness across departments.

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify areas for improvement.

  • Analyze operational data to identify trends and make informed decisions.

  • Oversee daily operations and ensure tasks are completed on time and according to standards.

Responsibilities

Objectives of this role

  • Maintain constant communication with managers, staff, and vendors to ensure proper operations of the company

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols

  • Increase the efficiency of existing processes and procedures to enhance the company’s internal capacity

  • Ensure that operational activities remain on time and within budget

  • Track staffing requirements, hiring new employees as needed

  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable departments

  • Staff Management:

  • Hire, train, and develop a high-performing operations team.

  • Assign tasks and delegate responsibilities effectively.

  • Provide performance feedback and coaching to employees.

  • Address employee concerns and resolve conflicts.

  • Quality Control:

  • Establish and maintain quality standards across all operational processes.

  • Implement quality assurance procedures to monitor and improve product/service quality.

  • Conduct quality audits and identify areas for improvement.

  • Process Improvement:

  • Identify and implement process improvements to streamline operations and reduce waste.

  • Analyze workflows and identify bottlenecks.

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize efficiency.

  • Budget Management:

  • Develop and manage operational budgets to ensure cost-effectiveness.

  • Monitor expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities.

  • Allocate resources efficiently to support operational goals.

  • Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure adherence to all relevant safety regulations and industry standards.

  • Monitor compliance with company policies and procedures.

  • Investigate and address safety concerns

Qualifications

Preferred skills and qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or equivalent

  • Proven experience in operational management roles, ideally in a relevant industry

  • Strong leadership and team management skills

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing or other process improvement methodologies (preferred)

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds

  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time

  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

  • Rigorous travel
