Providence PACS Administrator - Providence Imaging Center in Anchorage, Alaska
Description
The PACS Administrator's role is to perform all related activities for supporting the organization's Picture Archiving and Communications System (PACS). This includes preparing images for digital archiving and assuring the quality control of medical diagnostic images and files. The PACS Administrator is also responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all PACS associated hardware and software while ensuring its optimal performance. This position requires a person be able to manage multiple tasks and troubleshoot a variety of issues on a daily basis. A solid background in PACS hardware and software is a preferred requirement of the job. The PACS Administrator, along with PACS systems, needs to support/coordinate with other departments any and all technology related issues that are impacting direct patient care. This would involve collaboration and coordination with direct care providers, IS and Biomed as an example

Required qualifications:
2 years Experience in PACS, diagnostic workstation station technology or information technology.
Experience setting up and customizing local workstations.
Experience working on and updating 3D workstations (Siemens and GE).
Excellent technical knowledge of image capture and archiving technologies.
Hands-on hardware and software troubleshooting experience with radiology applications.
Previous exposure working in a large PACS environment
Good knowledge of current network protocols, data transfer systems, including TCP/IP, DICOM, HL7, etc.PACS equipment support.
Able to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and healthcare guidelines.
Ability to operate tools, components, and peripheral accessories
Strong knowledge of applicable document retention (ISO 9001) and copyright laws.
Familiarity with project management techniques and procedures
High understanding of confidentiality and data privacy laws, as well as federal legislations such as HIPAA.
Understanding of organizations goals and objectives.
Must have a customer service mindset.
Preferred qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Radiologic Technology.
upon hire: Certified Imaging Informatics Professional (CIIP) from the American Board of Imaging Informatics (ABII) or equivalent.
upon hire: License in Imaging Technology (Radiology, Ultrasound, MRI, etc) from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT).
upon hire: Certifications in PACS (CPSA, CPIA, CPSM, MCITP)
