Job Title: Maintenance Technician In Ankeny, Iowa
Job Description
The Maintenance Technician installs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as motors, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, electrical and electronic systems, conveyor systems, and injection molding machines and equipment. The goal is to maintain equipment downtime due to issues at 10% or below. Responsibilities include diagnosing mechanical problems, assembling, installing, or repairing wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems, and machinery. The technician also performs preventative maintenance tasks, safety inspections, and supports all building/facility requirements as directed by the manager. Compliance with OSHA and ANSI safety standards is mandatory. The technician must complete requisitions for maintenance items and participate in 5S Kaizen events.
Hard Skills
Maintenance
Working knowledge of plant machinery, electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and HVAC.
Working knowledge of programmable controls, including the ability to troubleshoot and modify programs through the use of appropriate tools.
Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Must provide own tools.
Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in ANKENY, Iowa.
Work Environment
Shift - 2nd or 3rd shift will be open. 1st- 6am-2pm Mon-Friday, 2nd - 2pm-10pm Monday -Friday, 3rd - 10pm-6am Monday-Friday. The plant has recently changed management and is starting to implement Lean manufacturing practices to increase efficiency. The facility is warm, and candidates must be comfortable with an unregulated environment, though some areas for maintenance are cooled. Dress code requires pants and steel-toed boots. There will be one other person on the shift with you. Weekend call duty is shared among the team.
