Group/DivisionWith over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA's metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers. Central Engineering is KLA's largest engineering organization comprised of 9 Centers-of-Excellence (CoE) in various disciplines applied across all product groups in the company. These CoE include Handling & Automation, Precision Motion Control, Sensors & Image Acquisition, Platform Design, and Packaging Engineering, among others. Job Description/Preferred Qualifications Our growing Ann Arbor team needs an Electrical Design Engineer to assist in developing product equipment and test centers for the AI algorithms that power KLA's world-class capabilities. Responsibilities Configurate PC and Server hardware and software. Collaborate with the CEG Engineering and Manufacturing teams to define test fixture requirements. Design, integration, document, and test fixture assemblies, including electrical, optical, and mechanical systems including AC/DC power distribution. Work with vendors and internal teams to procure and release parts. Prototype, assemble, and test electrical and electro-optical assemblies.Qualifications Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal. Proven knowledge of electrical engineering principles. Hands-on lab experience building electrical/optical/mechanical assemblies. Proficiency with soldering, hand tools, wiring, multimeter, oscilloscope, and lab test equipment. Self-sufficient with a proven record of organizing, designing, and delivering completed electrical/mechanical/optical assemblies. Ability to travel for training and to support development teams in different locations is required.
