Position Overview

The Division of Developmental Disabilities is seeking to hire a Registered Nurse Advanced Practice for the Choate Mental Health and Developmental Center located in Anna, Illinois to provide primary medical care to individuals on a hospital-wide basis. Performs general medical evaluations and provides ongoing medical care and relevant diagnostic and treatment services to individuals. Participates on the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team to evaluate clinical medical practices.

Essential Functions

• Provides primary medical care to individuals on a hospital-wide basis.
• Makes regular rounds evaluating medical progress and updates reports and charts.
• Provides emergency medical care when nursing staff identify an acute psychiatric need and request an individual be seen immediately.
• Serves as active and contributing member in assigned committees, staff meetings, teaching conferences, and clinical committees.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

• Requires current licensure as an Advanced Practice Nurse in the State of Illinois.

Conditions of Employment

• Requires ability to physically restrain individuals as necessary to prevent injury to individual or others.
• Requires ability to serve on-call after business hours, weekends, and holidays.
• Requires the ability to acquire and maintain Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
• Requires the ability to utilize office equipment, including personal computers.
• Requires the ability to travel in the performance of job duties.
• Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.
• Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.

Work Hours:9:00am-5:30pm; Monday-Friday; 1 hour unpaid lunch
