nVent Senior Mechanical Engineer in Anoka, Minnesota

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will work as part of the NPI engineering team contributing to team planning and innovation strategy providing technical insights and risk mitigation support for new product development.
WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
This professional is considered a subject matter expert in the functional areas of mechanial engineering, systems, and processes
Plan and conduct work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, and adaptation or modification of standard techniques, procedures, workflow, and criteria
Work and/or lead multi-functional project teams to develop new Enclosure products
Participate in multi-functional teams to help improve quality, production or field issues
Coordinate and assist in development of project schedules and requirements
Work with engineering leadership in support of technology strategy, innovation and processes to drive new product growth
Continuously evaluating process and products for improvement and value engineering opportunities
Develop, mentor and apply specific technological expertise to specific projects, i.e. component selection analysis, standards, manufacturing processes
Initiate and coordinate prototyping and testing (internal and external)
Establish test specifications and protocols
Independently perform assignments with instructions as to the general results expected. Receive consultative technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval for projects.
YOU HAVE:
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical engineering or equivalent
10+ years of related experience
Master of engineering knowledge and principals of manufacturing and design
Ability to navigate and communicate using CAD (Solidworks), PLM desired
Strong knowledge in manufacturing methods, Sheetmetal required
Strong logic and reasoning to identify the technical strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
Strong analytical knowledge in understanding test and performance data
Uses product knowledge constantly to make decisions that result in improved customer satisfaction, product functionality and overall design
Demonstrated capabilities in leading multiple tasks/projects along with the ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment in a self-directed manner
Ability to interpret and analyze professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations; analyze mathematical concepts and apply these to practical situations

Pay Transparency
nVent’s pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee’s work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.
Compensation Range:
$89,300.00 - $165,800.00
Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
