Position Overview:

The MRI Technologist coordinates and performs a wide variety of quality diagnostic studies in the specialty of Magnetic Resonance Imaging and may assist in performance of procedures. The MRI Technologist must possess and demonstrate knowledge of the following: MRI physics, MRI safe practices, anatomy/physiology, safe patient transfer and positioning techniques, and ethical and professional conduct. The MRI Technologists prepares, administers and documents activities related to contrast media. The incumbent is responsible for the operation of a variety of equipment used to image and document the anatomy. The MRI Technologist ensures accurate documentation, effective communications and demonstrates knowledge of age-appropriate criteria when working with all patients, which include high risk and critically ill patients. Responsible for accurate charge capture.

Population served includes neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatrics.

Job Description :

EDUCATION

Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

Other: Graduate from a Joint Commission-approved School of Radiologic Technology or equivalent education/experience

OR Other: Graduate of an accredited MRI program

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE

CRT-Certified Radiologic Technologist Upon Hire

BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider Upon Hire

IV Certification Upon Hire

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:

Previous experience as a MRI Technologist.

Prior work experience in an acute care facility is preferable.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Must be knowledgeable of MRI procedures which are performed on any or all body organs, systems, or structures.

Must be knowledgeable of cross-sectional anatomy.

Must be knowledgeable in the area of body mechanics for safely moving and positioning patients.

Responsible for the assessment, treatment, or care of patients of all ages, including neonate, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.

Understanding of terminology, keyboard operation, menu selection strategies and logistics of program flow.

Identification of risk factors, contraindications, and items that may become or cause damage when influenced by high magnetic fields and radio frequency energy.

Pay Range is $61.01 to $76.61 / hour

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
