Materials/Maintenance Planner Job Description

The Materials/Maintenance Planner is the primary support resource for our existing customers, partners, and service team. They oversee all commercial processes for quotation, and resolution of return requests and quality issues. They extensively interact via phone and email with customers and suppliers. The specialist listens, understands, and conveys customer requirements to the team with the goal of providing the best solutions for our customers while growing our aftermarket business.

  • Work toward sales targets and support the aftermarket business needs through both inbound customer requests and proactive approaches to parts and service sales.

  • Act as a support and resource for our customers, partners and at times, the service team.

  • Interaction with customers and suppliers via mill, vendor and workshop visits, phone, and email correspondence.

  • Responsible for sales and support visits, preparing quotations, following up with quotations, receipt of orders, and resolution of return requests and quality issues.

  • Provide reliable solutions for commercial and technical issues to ensure complete customer satisfaction and minimize avoidable customer downtime.

  • Maintain an expert level of knowledge in products and applications.

  • Coordination of spare parts production and occasionally expediting with our sourcing partners.

  • Work closely with internal shipping, finance, and order management teams to ensure customers are supported from the initial contact through the delivery of their shipments.

  • Collaborate with product design engineers, and applications experts to develop solutions for unique customer situations.

  • The operational processing of the spare and wearing parts business with the following individual processes:

  • Logging inquiries for spare parts; creating quotes for spare/wearing parts.

  • Identifying and compiling internal technical documentation for the procurement of spare parts (design and production drawings, technical specifications for purchased parts).

  • Assisting internal teammates as needed for the production of spare parts to sourcing partners and logistics of the finished parts to the customers.

  • Supporting the customer and/or providing services, for example, in connection with parts replacement

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of an associate degree: Supply Chain, Business, Mechanical Design, Product Design Engineering or equivalent preferred.

  • Mechanical aptitude is a must.

  • Advanced skills in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) are required.

  • Advanced understanding of industrial processes is a plus.

  • Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings is a plus.

  • Experience in the Paper Industry is a plus.

This is a permanent position.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Appleton, Wisconsin.

Work Environment

Onsite. Office hours are weekdays from 7:30 am – 4:30 pm.
