Amazon Corporate Counsel, Customer Protection and Enforcement in Arlington, Virginia
Description
Amazon is looking for a Corporate Counsel for its Customer Protection and Enforcement (CPE) team to support Amazon’s cybercrime enforcement efforts. CPE is part of Amazon’s legal department, and combats schemes that attempt to harm Amazon customers, partners and business. This position will be responsible for coordinating investigations into fraud schemes; working closely with business leaders, legal professionals, investigators, and our public policy team to advise on civil and criminal laws relating to cybercrime; and implementing civil and criminal enforcement strategies to stop bad actors. You’ll help chart long term strategy for combating malicious online activity that harms our customers and partners around the globe. The position requires working with law enforcement from multiple countries to refer and support prosecutions.
Basic Qualifications
5+ years of legal experience
Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
Experience investigating and stopping cybercrime schemes, including crafting legal strategies, managing a large number and variety of mission-critical projects, working independently and often in ambiguous environments, and interacting with government agencies.
Thorough understanding of Internet architecture and related technologies
Sound and practical business judgment as well as common sense
Ability to work effectively with outside counsel in the US and internationally, investigators, lawyers, and business clients cooperatively and efficiently
Highest standards of ethics and professional integrity
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Ability to travel and work extended hours when necessary

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $138,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $229,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
