Drug Enforcement Administration Deputy Assistant Administrator, Intelligence Business Operations in Arlington, Virginia

Summary The Deputy Assistant Administrator (DAA) for Intelligence Business Operations serves as a senior advisor to the Chief of Intelligence on strategic planning, resource allocation, budget, and human capital for the Intelligence Program. The DAA works closely with the Assistant Administrator for Intelligence in order to position the Intelligence Program for success in achieving DEA's mission by developing and implementing priority projects in support of DEA's overall operations. Responsibilities Coordinates efforts with other DEA and non-DEA senior executives and staff members to develop and implement intelligence support to DEA programs and operations worldwide. Maintains effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve mission goals. Using quantitative and qualitative methods, evaluates the Intelligence Program's progress toward meeting stated objectives and identifies problem areas inhibiting effective accomplishment of goals. Recommends the expansion, curtailment, or changes in emphasis in the budgetary and resource allocation of the Intelligence Program to achieve strategic impact of DEA mission goals. Oversees short-, mid-, and long-range planning in connection with prospective changes in programs, functions, manpower authorizations, and funding levels. Pursues modern, innovative business processes, data, and tools to maximize the efficiency of intelligence programs and provide valuable insights to the Assistant Administrator/DEA Chief of Intelligence that assists in the achievement of DEA mission goals. Monitors and assesses the Intelligence Program's budget in collaboration with other Intelligence Division Senior Executives. Ensures efficiency of resource allocations and that programs are meeting objectives and key milestones. Collaborates with DEA Human Resources professionals to recruit talent utilizing effective assessment and hiring processes. Works with training staff to build comprehensive basic and advanced training opportunities for the entire Intelligence Program workforce. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Qualifications include both general management skills and characteristics that are applicable to all SES positions and technical or program responsibilities specific to this position. Applicants must have substantive general experience which provides a good basic or general knowledge of the principles of organization, management, and administration; and substantive specialized (operating administrative or managerial) experience in a type of work or a combination of functions directly related to this position. MANDATORY TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must submit a statement for each of the MTQs listed below. Please give a complete and detailed answer for each mandatory qualification. Statements shall be limited to a maximum of ONE page per MTQ. MTQ 1 - Demonstrated expertise and experience in leading and managing all phases of data-driven intelligence analysis and law enforcement mission support programs to include strategic planning, budgeting, evaluation and administrative management. MTQ 2 - Demonstrated expertise and experience in leading and managing a diverse workforce of law enforcement, intelligence, administrative, and technical professionals employing data-driven strategies to achieve mission goals. Ability to foster commitment, team spirit, pride, trust, and group identity. MTQ 3 - Demonstrated experience in applying analytic tradecraft standards within the context of DEA's federal law enforcement mission. Education Education: All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions Desired Education: Desired Education: Undergraduate or Graduate Education or equivalent experience.
