We're looking for an Instrument and Controls Designer who is excited about working on projects that enable the heart of our clients’ business to join our on-site team Manassas, VA. Join us and you’ll have the chance to work on projects focused on designing state of the art structures within Advanced Facilities. Come be a part of a vibrant, dynamic team that delivers world class designs for well-known clients around the world. You’ll be accountable for developing Piping & Instrument Diagrams (P&ID) following ANSI/ISA S5.1 symbology, and panel design including panel layout and I/O wiring diagrams. You will also have the opportunity to learn in the field as you participate in regular field walks.

  • Associate of Applied Science Degree

  • At least 3 years of I&C Design experience

  • Experience using AutoCAD and Revit

Ideally, you’ll also have: 

  • Proficient in using Microsoft Suite including MS Word, Access, Outlook and Excel and project delivery and schedule management software tools.

  • Experience in Semi-conductor industrial or general industrial facilities

  • Experience in various aspects of industrial automation, instrumentation, electrical power and building automation system design

Other Requirements:

Location:

  • This is an on-site position requiring work to be performed on the client site in Manassas, VA.

  • Candidate must be willing to commute to the site Monday-Friday during normal business hours - nominally 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with some flexibility based on ability of site to support and employee preference.

  • Relocation assistance may be provided for qualified candidate.

Physical Requirements:

  • Position requires field visits and walks at an active client site in various stages of construction. Applicant must be able to walk long distances, sit and stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, twist, crawl, climb ladders, work on catwalks, work in small spaces, lift and carry up to 25lbs.

Authorized to Work:

  • Applicant must complete background check, drug screen and be fully authorized to work for any client in the United States. Jacobs will not sponsor or continue a Visa for this position.
