Amazon Senior Supply Chain Manager, Toys & Entertainment in Arlington, Virginia

Amazon is looking for a customer focused, driven, and analytical leader to join the Toys & Entertainment team.

The Senior Supply Chain Manager will own strategies to drive supply chain efficiencies and maximize sales, margin and turns. This is a critical role helping us build, manage and optimize a complex procurement system. The ideal candidate is able to lead and influence both internal and external teams in an ambiguous environment, while maintaining a customer-centric philosophy. They must be highly organized, self-starting, highly analytical and thrive in a high energy environment – ideally with experience in supply chain and operations.

Key areas of focus include driving improvement in inventory availability, increasing inventory efficiency, improving purchasing automation, and reducing input costs. The Senior Supply Chain Manager will also be responsible for process improvements, including identifying defects, reducing waste, and improving supply chain effectiveness. This role enables you to "hit the ground running" and make transformational impact on how we manage in-stock and cost in one of the most exciting businesses.

Key job responsibilities

The Supply Chain functional leader for Toys & Entertainment develops plans and oversees supply chain and inventory management. They lead cross-functional initiatives to improve customer experience and overall cost structure of the business. Responsibilities include:

  • Leading supply chain and inventory management, setting goals and strategic direction, and driving tool and process improvements.

  • Driving cross-functional strategic initiatives and operational excellence.

  • Lead supply chain and operational collaboration with selling partner leadership.

  • Conducting complex business analysis to identify business opportunities to improve revenue and profitability.

  • Drive the creation of new initiatives specific to the needs of the business to meet and exceed business plans.

  • Guide teams in their ability to develop and execute action plans, working closely on building support and resources for projects and initiatives.

  • Provide leadership on project selection, scope, definition, and performance to ensure alignment with business strategy.

  • Lead the change of existing tools and processes or create new ones.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, business, mathematics, statistics, operational research, engineering, Computer Science, or a supply chain/operations discipline or related disciplines.

  • 6+ years of experience in general management, product management, finance, consulting, operations or supply chain.

  • Proficiency in analytical data manipulation.

  • Expert using Excel for data analysis and modeling.

  • Ability to manage multiple cross-functional projects.

  • Demonstrated experience in managing a complex business.

  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency in effective communication of goals and strategies across multiple leadership levels of an organization.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in business (MBA) or related disciplines.

  • Experience with building scalable programs and business development.

  • Knowledge of data visualization software, strong numerical and analytical aptitude, and high proficiency creating and managing advanced models.

  • Strong proficiency in analytical tools including Microsoft Excel, SQL and statistical software.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $109,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
