Job Title: Mechanic Entry-Level

Role Overview:

Mechanic Entry-Level is an entry-level mechanic position focused on performing routine preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our fleet. This role is ideal for individuals with basic mechanical skills and a strong desire to learn and grow in a professional maintenance environment. You will work under the guidance of experienced mechanics and contribute to the overall maintenance program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preventive Maintenance (PM) Tasks:
    • Perform routine PM inspections and services, including oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, and tire checks.
    • Inspect and maintain fluid levels (oil, coolant, transmission, etc.).
    • Check and adjust tire pressure and perform tire rotations.
    • Inspect and replace belts and hoses as needed.
    • Conduct basic brake inspections and adjustments.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Accurately document all PM tasks and inspections performed.
    • Report any identified mechanical issues or safety concerns to senior mechanics or the shop superintendent.
    • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance work.
  • Shop Maintenance:
    • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
    • Assist with general shop maintenance tasks.
    • Dispose of used fluids and parts in accordance with environmental regulations.
  • Safety Compliance:
    • Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations.
    • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
    • Perform safety sensitive functions.
  • Assistance:
    • Assist higher level mechanics as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of vehicle systems.
  • Ability to perform routine maintenance tasks.
  • Working knowledge of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs without assistance.
  • Valid driver's license (may be required).
  • Ability to perform safety sensitive functions.
  • Reliable and dependable with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work effectively with team members.
