How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

Provide legal and labor relations advice, opinions and recommendations to leadership and Divisions throughout Delta in a fast-paced corporate environment. Primary duties and responsibilities include:

  • Adviseoperational departments, particularly Flight Operations, on strategy andmatters related to employment policies, labor law, labor relations, compliance,contract interpretation and administration, benefits and managerial training

  • RepresentDelta in all phases of the grievance process and arbitration hearings undercollective bargaining agreements

  • Participateas needed in negotiations and assist in management of relationship with Delta’sU.S.-based pilot and flight dispatcher unions

  • Advise onad hoc labor-related and employment matters

  • Supportand implement positive employee relations throughout the Company; help makeDelta the employer of choice in the airline industry and foster Delta’slong-standing, family-oriented culture

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • JurisDoctorate from an accredited law school with excellent academic credentials

  • Licensedto practice law in the U.S. with State Bar admission in at least onejurisdiction

  • Minimum 3to 6 years of work experience in a law firm or equivalent in-house experience,with a focus on labor and employment matters with a preference for priorrepresentation of management in labor-related litigation and counseling

  • Stronganalytical, strategic, leadership, negotiation, dispute resolution and problem-solvingskills

  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.

  • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.

  • Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.

Ability to:

  • Communicateclearly and concisely both orally and in writing and to prepare and deliversound legal and labor relations opinions

  • Establishand maintain effective and professional relationships with internal clients andexternal partners and entities

  • Analyzeand interpret facts, caselaw, precedent, legislation, statutes, contracts andother information as needed to provide necessary advice and recommendations

  • Researchand draft labor contracts and agreements, pleadings, briefs and other legaldocuments

  • Abilityto work quickly and competently to prioritize, multi-task and produce resultsin deadline-oriented projects

  • Familiarity with airline industry and Railway Labor Act
