What impact you’ll make:

The function of the Project Engineering Manager (PEM) will act as the responsible engineering lead and interface with the Commercial Operations & PMO teams supporting Complex and Extended scope upgrade projects from ITO through OTR involving design, production, repair, vendors and performance teams of gas turbines, steam turbine, generator, and plant BOP upgrades.

Job Description

  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and execute as part of the ITR (ITO+OTR) Operation.

  • Provide technical direction to the engineering teams to execute complex projects from proposal preparation until the end of contractual obligations.

  • Support the team with project fulfillment activities (major package equipment & BOP) on a fast-track project in coordination with manufacturing, supply chain, and sourcing.

  • Develop and monitor project engineering schedule and budget, track and prioritize resolution of project action items and critical technical issues and integrate customer/partner and GE engineering schedules into overall project schedule.

  • Develop and manage project technical strategy, division of responsibility to mitigate risk, including decisions involving the use of conceptual engineering judgment to allow the design process to proceed without full information.

  • Contribute expertise with reviews customer specifications and communicates contract and project requirements to all design functions utilizing internal documentation systems.

  • Assess technical risks of the project and develop appropriate risk mitigation measures & implement the same.

  • Provide technical support to Project Management team for project installation, construction, start-up, and commissioning activities.

  • Develop and maintain project execution processes and work instruction and ensure execution of necessary project processes including preparing comprehensive proposals, conducting project kickoff, schedule reviews, regular project team meetings, lessons learned, design freeze, customer design and project reviews, as-builts, and ensure adherence to all ISO-procedures and work instructions.

  • Enforce quality procedures and participate in their improvement.

  • Take care of cost solidity during ITO & manage project while managing engineering & parts cost as per ITO allocation during deal execution.

What you’ll bring (Basic Qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university or college or equivalent knowledge/experience

  • Significant Project Management with experience in a mechanical engineering function, leading projects from start to delivery.

  • Proven deep knowledge of gas turbines combined within all Gas Power products inclusive of steam turbine, generator, and strong knowledge of BOP

  • Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems.

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Gas turbine / Steam turbine / Generator design, manufacturing, or assembly/ test experience.

  • Exposure to electrical and civil functions of the project

  • BB / Green Belt certification

  • Lean Mindset with lean tool knowledge

For U.S. based candidates only, for purposes of complying with U.S. pay transparency requirements, the base pay range for this position is $111,200-185,400 USD Annual

The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for 15% variable incentive compensation.

The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
