How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

Delta Air Lines, Inc. has multiple openings for Senior Engineers in Atlanta, Georgia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provideengineering support to Line, Base, and Cabin Maintenance for any aircraftissues.

  • Developtimely repairs, solutions, and engineering substantiations for aircraftstructures and systems where existing approved solutions do not exist.

  • Maintainon-time performance goals for the airline while producing new solutions tosupport the Maintenance Control Center (MCC) with issues that cannot be solvedthrough existing resources.

  • Ensurecompliance per 14CFR regulations in design activities.

  • Technicaldocument creation following safety and compliance.

  • Act asLiaison with representatives outside of the assigned group/area.

  • Contributeto planning, developing, and coordinating of important engineering projects.

  • Maintaincurrent knowledge of developments in the field of specialty and/or otherrelated aircraft fields in order to recommend innovations to improve qualityand effectiveness of company product.

  • Workunder limited supervision. Telecommuting permitted 1 day per week.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related field, and 5 years of experience in aerospace engineering or a related field. In the alternative, will accept a Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related field, and 2 years of experience in aerospace engineering or related.

  • Must have work experience in:

  • Aircraft structural repair including static and fatigue analysis of primary and secondary airframe structures of metallic construction;

  • Airframe design including composite and metallic bonding structures with experience in evaluating discrepant conditions and developing repairs;

  • Aircraft and electrical systems including evaluating and wiring diagram manuals, drawings, and system schematics to troubleshoot and provide solutions;

  • Aircraft analysis of designs which include basic static stress analysis and using computer aided design tools including AutoCAD or CATIA V in the interrogation of aircraft structures; and

  • Aircraft regulations - 14CFR.
