American Express Global Commercial Services (GCS) enables businesses globally to pay for and finance what they need to grow their businesses. GCS provides a suite of payment and lending products, solutions for travel and everyday business spending, cross border payments, global currency solutions, and business financing.
GCS is dedicated to the success of businesses big and small with the vision to be essential to our customers’ businesses every day. As part of GCS Product, the Business Operations team supports product operations, customer experience, controls, and risk governance. We are focused on delivering great product experiences in the right way with the appropriate level of risk and oversight. We partner closely with Control Management in the First Line of Defense.
The Senior Manager, Digital Product Operations will collaborate with the B2B Solutions Product and Control Management teams to usher new initiatives or products and changes to existing products through the New Product Governance (NPG) process (AEMP 54). The Senior Manager, Digital Product Operations will provide oversight, guidance, and support to the B2B Solutions product teams. A successful candidate will develop a deep knowledge of the B2B Solutions product suite, establish strong relationships with First Line of Defense, and understanding of Second Line of Defense (Global Risk & Compliance), and mastery of AEMP 54 policy to play a pivotal role in improving efficiency and effectiveness within the NPG process. The Senior Manager would have 1 direct report.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead New Product Approvals (AEMP54) for all B2B Solutions products, collaborating closely with Control Management
Drive improvements to streamline and improve agility across the process
Collaborate directly with Product to understand new initiatives and provide guidance to achieve AEMP 54 approval
Maintain oversight on product roadmap and coordinate timelines to aid in timely submission to NPA process
Provide support and facilitate interactions between Product and key Risk Pillar SMEs (e.g., LOBCO, Information Security, GCO, Privacy)
Communicate updates, risks/watchouts and upcoming milestones to partners and leadership on a consistent basis
Responsible for Special Projects support
Responsible for preparing reports, presentations, and other deliverables for management and stakeholders for project updates and overall health stats
Responsible for Monitoring and reporting on NPG completion rates, identifying trends and patterns, and making recommendations for improvement
Minimum Qualifications:
Ability to innovate and identify process improvements
Must be highly organized and structured individual with an ability to handle several workstreams and to demonstrate attention to detail, adaptability, flexibility, resourcefulness, and efficiency
Experience working in a highly collaborative, matrixed environment, developing relationships and influencing without direct authority
Ability to effectively prioritize and drive strong results with limited resources
Proficient in problem-solving with a proven track record to navigate timelines while consistently delivering quality results that meet or exceed requirements
Experience in process governance, with an understanding of processes that align with policies, regulatory frameworks, and/or operational standards
Bachelor's Degree required
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in either an operational excellence, control, operations, audit, banking or risk role or other relevant experience, preferably with a deep understanding of critical operational risk management lifecycle activities
Experience and demonstrated track record in B2B product development
Experience working with product, risk, and compliance functions and have a knowledgeable understanding of the various risks and regulatory obligations of American Express
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Risk Management, or related field or equivalent experience
Qualifications
Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually bonus benefits
