Quantum MFG CNC Machinist in AUBURN HILLS, Michigan
*Position Summary: *
CNC Machinist/ Programmer(s) for small batch industrial parts and limited short run production using Haas vertical CNC lathes and mills. The successful candidate must be a skilled machinist, able to process, program and machine work details with little or no help. In addition, the successful candidate will play a key role in group part processing decisions. This is a key position in our organization which requires desire, dedication, contribution and resilience. Wage is negotiated on an individual basis, based on experience, knowledge and wisdom.
Responsibilities/ requirements
- Read and interpret part print and related documents
- Review and evaluate CAD data
- Determine machining process (Process Flow)
- Determine part fixturing
- Determine tooling
- Develop part program via CAD/CAM and or G&M code
- Determine in process inspection
- Machine work piece(s)
- Perform in process inspection
- De burr and prep work piece for next operation
- Maintain work area
Qualifications:
- Shop Math
- Verbal and written communication skills
- G&M code, understanding and programming
- CAD/CAM programming via Mastercam and or BobCad
- 2D programming
- 3D programming
- 3+2 Programming or the ability to learn
- 5 axis programming or the ability to learn
- Basic Desktop computer skills (email, pdf, file manipulation, window software, excel, word, PowerPoint)
The ability to work well and collaborate with others
At Quantum we offer a competitive wage based on individual talent. Our typical work week is 48 hours Monday through Friday , scheduled as follow:
- Monday-Thursday 6a..-4p.M. (10 hours with 1/2 hour paid lunch)
- Friday 6a.M.-2p.M. (8 hours)
Ocassionally, we do work additional overtime as needed including the weekends.
We provide 6 paid holidays, 3% matched 401K and paid vacation (up to 4 weeks).
