Job Title: CNC Machinist - 2nd Shift

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CNC Lathe/Mill Set-Up Machinist to join our team on the 2nd shift. This role involves setting up, operating, and programming CNC machines, and is ideal for candidates with leadership experience who may potentially step into a Lead Machinist position.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, set up, and perform program editing on CNC machines.

  • Machine various materials, including plastics and metals.

  • Download programs to machines, gather tooling, and set up fixtures.

  • Conduct dry runs of programs and make necessary edits after the first piece.

  • Support secondary operations on the work floor, including packaging materials, deburring, and prepping parts.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience operating Mill/Lathe 3-axis machines.

  • Proficiency in blueprint reading and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).

  • Experience with Fanuc Controls.

  • Capability to perform full set-up of CNC lathe or mill 3-axis machines.

  • Ability to download programs and make necessary G&M code edits.

  • Leadership background or potential.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong preference for experience with Haas machinery.

  • Knowledge of live tooling.

  • Experience with MasterCAM for editing and programming.

  • Familiarity with Haas Controls.

Work Environment

You will be working in a new machine shop equipped with 4 Haas mills, 4 Haas lathes, a CNC Router, and 2 Panel Saws/Shapers. The facility is completely renovated and located in Auburn Hills. The 2nd shift operates from 4:30 PM to 3:00 AM, Monday through Thursday, with occasional 8-hour shifts on Fridays. The environment is dynamic and in the start-up phase, providing ample opportunity for growth and development.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
