Overall Hourly Pay Scale: $24.00-$37.50
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00AM-3:30PM (40 hours/week), subject to overtime
SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for the proper inspection processes in the Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI) department by performing non-destructive dye penetrant and magnetic particle inspections. The NDI Inspector may provide back-up assistance in vendor audits, shipping & receiving inspection, technical library and/or records.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible to the Director of Quality Assurance for the proper inspection processes in the NDI department.
- Performs liquid penetrant inspections and magnetic particle inspections per industry standards or the manufacturers' specifications.
- May perform, eddy current inspections and ultrasonic inspections per industry standards or the manufacturers' specifications.
- Maintains NDI training records, calibration maintenance records and manages workflow.
- Train and examine non-senior personnel for certification methods.
- May perform incoming receiving inspection, teardown, in-process and final inspections of all repair work performed by various internal shops.
- May perform hidden damage inspections on all incidents and accident-related work orders.
- Performs technical data revision checks and updates as required during off shifts or absences of the technical librarian.
- Performs incoming receiving inspection of articles used in the shops as required during off shift or weekend periods.
- Ensure all compliance of Company inspection standards, methods, and procedures.
- Perform internal audit as an ongoing process, and discrepancies and corrective actions are documented and resolved.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of required documents and of all materials to specifications.
- Follow and adhere to all policies and regulations.
- Back up department functions and perform other duties as assigned.
- Report to work on a regular and consistent basis.
REQUIRED ABILITY TO:
Work close to strong magnetic fields.
- Must not have any medical devices that are adversely affected by magnetism.
Pass a vision examination to assure natural or corrected near-distance acuity in at least one eye.
- Pass an Ishihara Color Blindness Test or equivalent.
- Read a Jaeger Number 2 or equivalent type and size letter at the distance designated on the chart but not less than 12 in (30.5 cm) on a standard Jaeger test chart.
