Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

At the direction of a qualified physician or advanced practice provider, performs a variety of procedures requiring independent judgment and initiative in the utilization of ultrasonic equipment for the diagnosis of disease in humans.
Performs high quality vascular ultrasound examinations including, but not limited to upper and lower extremity arterial duplex, upper and lower extremity venous duplex, aorto-iliac duplex, renal duplex, mesenteric duplex, dialysis access evaluation and pre-operative/post-operative vein mapping.
Performs high quality physiologic studies including, but not limited to ankle brachial index (ABI), pulse volume recording (PVR), and photoplethysmogram (PPG).
Reviews patient medical history and physician or advance practice provider's orders to perform prescribed study.
Works with the Medical Director to formulate or revise imaging protocols, policies, and procedures utilized in the production of images.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technologist program or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program.
Two (2) years of experience working as an Ultrasound Technician.
Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

3+ years of vascular experience.
Experience working in vascular surgery or a related practice.
Experience setting up sterile and non-sterile procedure trays and medical procedure rooms.
Experience and knowledge with medical chart preparation and set-up.
Experience with EPIC.
Registered Phlebology Sonographer (RPhS).
Bilingual, Spanish preferred.

Conditions of Employment:

Registered as a Vascular Technologist (RVT) through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
Registered as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross healthcare provider level CPR certification.
Must be willing to work in person.
Must be willing to travel to other locations as assigned.
