Job Title: Quality Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Quality Engineer to join our team. The focus of this role is on developing and implementing new and improved inspection techniques across multiple production stages. You will collaborate with sales, engineering, manufacturing, and customers to investigate and address complaints, defective products, and quality problems. This position includes hands-on inspection responsibilities to assist with in-process, receiving, and final inspections, as well as coordinating and communicating activities within Quality Assurance and other departments to meet customer on-time-delivery requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement new and improved inspection techniques for multiple production stages.

  • Collaborate with sales, engineering, manufacturing, and customers to investigate and address complaints and quality problems.

  • Perform daily hands-on inspection layout responsibilities for in-process, receiving, and final inspections.

  • Coordinate and communicate activities within Quality Assurance and other functional departments.

  • Handle customer-facing responsibilities, including non-conformance review, driving root cause analysis, and documenting corrective actions.

  • Analyze complaint data to identify hidden trends and initiate corresponding corrective actions.

  • Evaluate and approve raw materials, in-process production, and finished products by confirming specifications through visual and measurement verifications and tests.

  • Become an expert on all aspects of gaging, including selection, procurement, calibration, maintenance, and training of operators/inspectors.

  • Participate in the development of Control/Inspection Plans, SOPs, and Work Instructions.

  • Assist in the development of the quality management system and support the initiative to obtain ISO9001 certification.

  • Perform audits both internally and at the supplier level.

  • Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities.

Essential Skills

  • Quality engineering

  • Six Sigma

  • BS Degree in Engineering (electrical/electronic preferred)

  • US Citizenship or C1 Permanent Resident Alien status

  • Minimum 2 years of experience with a degree, or 5 years of quality engineering-related experience

  • Knowledge of Six Sigma tools

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, statistical trending, and data analysis

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Must be able to lift and handle heavy parts up to 30 lbs.

  • Must be able to bend, squat, kneel, or climb a stepladder while working.

  • Must have good vision to inspect parts and assemblies.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
