Description

The Engineering Project Manager is responsible for managing multiple projects, meeting customer demands, achieving overall project timing, and meeting financial targets. This includes leading a project team from development through certification and act as the primary point of communication between the customer and the project team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work together with internal management teams and customer management teams to plan, develop, control and direct the projects. This includes overall project requirements.

  • Ensure on time delivery of the product to the customer and to the customers’ satisfaction.

  • Work across functions to meet key delivery dates, highest quality product, effectively manufactured with minimal waste in material and space.

  • Coordinate ongoing analyses of projects and development activities to identify cost saving opportunities, quality improvements, and process improvements.

  • Support company teams in pursuing new technologies and products.

  • Provide technical direction and serve as the point of contact for the Department of Engineering and Production.

  • Plan programs with multiple technical components, track budgets and timelines, and prepare/ present status reports for management.

  • Conduct oneself in accordance with Company’s Core Values

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • BS degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, a related engineering discipline, or equivalent experience; advanced degree desirable.

  • Extensive experience with FAA certification programs, preferably involving rotorcraft, specifically, 14 CFR Part 21, 29, 43.

  • Ability to interface at the highest levels with customers, suppliers, regulatory agencies (FAA, etc.), and senior management of the company.

  • Experience with Design FMEA, problem solving tools, ISO 9000 and/or Six Sigma Green Belt certification a plus.

  • Knowledge of advanced concepts in specified disciplines.

  • Excellent communication skills including verbal, written, and interpersonal with the ability to present ideas, concepts and proposals succinctly and effectively to a wide range of audiences at all levels, internal and external, technical or non-technical.

  • Desirable to have Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

  • Ability to prepare weekly, monthly, annual and end of project/program reports as required.

  • Experience and/or training in project management; ability to handle multiple projects/programs simultaneously within stringent time constraints.

  • Ability to learn, interpret and apply policies, procedures, and resolutions.

  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office suite (MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Innovative and results oriented.

  • Discretion, independent judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to maintain a good working relationship with all team members, stakeholders and customers.
