Position Summary
The Associate Data Engineer at CVS Health plays a crucial role in leveraging extensive healthcare data to support data-driven business decisions. This position involves designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines that handle large datasets, ensuring data quality and accessibility. The role emphasizes collaboration with cross-functional teams to create tools that provide actionable insights, ultimately contributing to the mission of delivering innovative healthcare solutions.
Supports the organization's data infrastructure and ensures the efficient and reliable processing of data. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain data pipelines, databases, and data processing systems. Optimizes data workflows, ensures data quality, and supports data-related initiatives to enable effective data-driven decision-making.
Required Qualifications
Experience with SQL
Proficiency in Python or a comparable scripting language
Familiarity with data warehouses, including data modeling and technical architectures
Experience with ETL/ELT processes and building high-volume data pipelines
Knowledge of reporting and analytic tools
Excellent problem-solving skills and critical thinking ability
Strong collaboration and communication skills within and across teams
For this role you will need Minimum Requirements
0-2 years work experience
Basic awareness of problem solving and decision making skills
Preferred Qualifications
Understanding of query optimization, data structures, transformation, metadata, dependency, and workload management
Experience with big data and cloud architecture
Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) using tools like BigQuery, Cloud Composer, Dataproc, and Dataflow
Knowledge of AI and ML tools, such as Vertex AI
Experience building APIs in Python
Experience building large-scale applications and high-volume data pipelines
Working knowledge of orchestration tools, such as Apache Airflow
Ability to understand complex systems and solve challenging analytical problems
Data Engineering Professional Certificate preferred.
Education
Bachelor's degree preferred.

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$61,800.00 - $123,600.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
