Ensures the integrity of accounting information by reviewing, recording, and verifying transactions for all Physics fund sources. Transactions include but are not limited to transfers, billing, purchase orders, pro-card vouchers, cash/check deposits, travel authorizations, travel reimbursements, budget transfers, and authorizations for individual services.Oversees the departmental travel request process. This position would be the lead for the department in monitoring travel policies and making procedural updates to accommodate changes, monthly tracking of our Travel database and monitoring the Teams shared email account.Participates in the preparation of monthly financial statements and annual fiscal year close reports.Carries out ad hoc reporting and analysis in support of the Physics department which can include forecasting and financial reporting related to grant account closeouts.Assists with documenting and monitoring internal controls ensuring alignment with fiscal policies and procedures in accordance with federal, state, UT System and university regulations and policy. Ensures all aspects of transactions are accurate and entered timely.Works in tandem with the Purchasing/Payments team as backup processing payment documents during periods of high volume such as travel authorizations, travel reimbursements, PO and/or contract payments.Assist in Physics Department annual inventory process.Effectively escalates and communicates issues, while providing status updates on analytics processes and deliverables. Communicates verbally and in writing, with internal and external customers, in a cordial, articulate and timely manner.Processes Monthly Billing for Physics run Service Centers and provides input during the yearly Rate Review cycleOther ad hoc duties as assigned. Completes trainings, as needed, on how to use required systems.
