CAPITAL METROPOLITAN Hostler Supervisor CAP in Austin, Texas

Knowledge and Experience:

  • At least (2) years supervisory or management experience required
  • Must have a current, valid State of Texas issued CDL license (Class A or B) a Passenger (P) endorsement or current valid State of Texas issued Commercial Driver Learners (CDL) Permit (Class A or B)
  • Minimum three (3) years driving experience
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft software (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to efficiently interact with and use Trapeze, Hexagon, Viriciti Telematics, and other transit related and business programs
  • Must have a stable work history and pass satisfactory reference checks.
  • Must be able to pass Pre-employment drug screen and background check

Skills:

  • Computer savvy with working knowledge of relevant outstanding organizational and time management skills
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with management through verbal and written communication.
  • Excellent communications abilities with aptitude in problem-solving
  • Must possess excellent leadership skills
  • Must be reliable
  • Must work efficiently on team
  • Must have a positive attitude
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time, kneel, push, and pick up items up to 50 lbs.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Coordinate service writers and hostlers to ensure an adequate number of vehicles are available for service when needed
  • Ensure vehicles are properly assigned to routes
  • Manage and supervise activities on the yard to ensure safe operation
  • Assist operators with pull-out and pull-in activities
  • Coordinate hostler activities to meet business need to move fleet vehicles
  • Develop and implement processes and procedures
  • Coordinate yard activities with OCC, Operations, Maintenance, Service Island, Non-Revenue, 3 rdparty vendors, safety, security, training depts.
  • Ensures electric buses are charged and ready for service each day
  • Coordinates, assigns, and monitors tasks for hostlers
  • Develops staff
