Performs skilled and complex electronics technical support work. Work involves installing, diagnosing, maintaining and repairing electronic systems and equipment. Work requires contact with departmental employees and private entities. Employees at this level establish their own work plan and priorities to meet set objectives. Issues are rarely referred to the supervisor but are handled at the occurrence.Essential Duties: Assists in the maintenance, repair and installation of computer and network equipment. Assists project managers with construction and management projects and contracts. Trains and/or assists employees in the use of various electronic equipment; creates literature and conducts presentations as necessary. Troubleshoots, analyzes and solves complex technical marine software/hardware and client server problems. Assists with electrical repairs, installations, and computer wiring in departmental buildings. Inspects contracted work and coordinates the contract process. May serve as a lead worker and the related tasks. Orders parts and equipment and keeps records of repairs, employee time and mileage. Receives and processes work orders from district sections and coordinates equipment repairs. Trains technicians in equipment repair and troubleshooting. Writes specifications for repair parts, system components and tests equipment. Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.Other Conditions:This position may be eligible to telework 2 days a week: However, if a situation develops that requires on-site assistance, the employee must report to Campus within 1.5hrs of being notified.
