To assist with administrative duties in capacity of Lab Manager. This includes assistance with administrative tasks, tracking expenses, serving as a point of contact for the lab, supervising undergraduate student workers, communicating with vendors and suppliers, and jurisdiction over lab communications. In detail, this involves tasks surrounding lab inventory and ordering such as (1) tracking lab inventory and placing new order requests; (2) communicating with vendors to negotiate best prices; (3) serving as a point-of-contact for receiving deliveries and follow-up for any returns or delivery errors; (4) serving as a point-of-contact for equipment repairs or maintenance calls; (5) filing and assistance with office paperwork, including receipts and work orders; You will have jurisdiction over the lab email and will serve as a point-of-contact for our labs interaction with other administrative departments, such as accounting and scheduling, (6) periodic updates of the lab website; no programming required; (7) Professional use of the lab accounts; and (8) Will initiate communication with lab members related to administrative or urgent issues.Responsible for performing and overseeing assigned scheduled tasks that facilitate routine daily laboratory operations. Examples of assigned tasks include but are not limited to making common buffers and lab reagents, competent cells, glassware cleaning, cryo dewar fill-up, and changing air tanks.Responsible for assisting in research experiments as requested.
