Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring for a Senior Software/Integration Engineer to support our client's contract needs. This position is located in the Fairfax, VA area and will be an on-site position with some intermittent remote work.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of systems engineering tasks and activities that are broad in nature and are concerned with major systems design, integration, and implementation, including personnel, hardware, software, budgetary, and support facilities and/or equipment.

• Provides quality assurance review and the evaluation of new and existing software products.

• Gathering information from customers on their needs and developing the software to match their desires.

• Designing program and analyzing how they’ll fit together.

• Creating diagrams and models that programmers may need for each application.

• Overseeing testing to ensure new applications work as intended.

• Making sure the software continues to work properly after maintenance and testing.

• Troubleshooting problems with software and aiding in the creation of patches and updates to address them.

• Ensuring that stages of development reach completion on time according to project milestones

• Documenting all aspects of the application for future upgrades and maintenance

• Excellent architecture and technical support documentation skills.

• Strong interpersonal and consultative skills.

• Ability to conduct research into emerging technologies and trends, standards, and products as required.

• Evaluating, identifying, and developing software solutions

• Leading software development projects

• Documenting and recording every aspect of an application or software.

• Training and overseeing the activities of the members of the development team.

• Planning, tracking and scheduling software deliverables.

• Locating and directing solutions for critical challenges involving software and hardware interface

• Looking for problems within software systems and resolving the issues

Qualifications

Bachelor's with 15+ years (or commensurate experience)

Required Skills and Experience

• 15+ years in Systems Engineering and application administration

• Experience in quality assurance

• Experience overseeing testing of new applications

• Clearance Required: US Citizenship is required to obtain and maintain Active Top Secret Clearance

Posted Pay Range

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
