Job Title: Traffic Operations Clerk

Aerotek is seeking an Operations Clerk to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This candidate will be interacting with a diverse range of personalities both indoors and outdoors. This role involves a variety of daily tasks at our Avondale location. Key responsibilities include:

• Shipment Verification: Ensure accurate records for incoming and outgoing shipments, supporting the Traffic and Operations department.

• Record Maintenance: Maintain precise documentation for all shipments.

• Collaboration: Work closely with the operations and customer service departments to ensure customer satisfaction.

• Cargo Validation: Validate physical cargoes across various modes of transport.

Job Description

• Cargo Verification: Examine and compare cargo with records (manifests, work orders, bills of lading, invoices, or orders) to ensure accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments.

• Goods Inspection: Physically inspect goods, verify and validate them (including scanning as necessary).

• Documentation: Prepare and execute documents such as work orders, work logs, bills of lading, and shipping orders to route materials.

• Shipping Knowledge: Utilize knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and methodologies to understand shipping methods for materials.

• Data Recording: Record shipment data, including weight, charges, space availability, and any damages or discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, and recordkeeping purposes.

• Customer Service Collaboration: Work with the customer service team to resolve issues such as damages, shortages, and nonconformance to specifications.

• Stock Checks: Assist in stock check processes.

• Gate Security: Guard the entrance gate of the industrial facility.

• Phone Handling: Answer phones for customers and drivers in the scale house as required.

• Access Control: Open the gate to allow entrance or exit of employees, trucks, and authorized visitors.

• Credential Verification: Check credentials or approved rosters before admitting anyone.

• Data Recording for Carriers: Record data on trucks or other carriers entering and leaving the facility.
