WorkSource Oregon Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in Baker City, Oregon

REQUIREMENTS: * Valid and current licensure (COTA). * High School diploma and two (2) years (72 quarter hours/48 semester hours) of higher education or an Associate\'s Degree or pass the state paraeducator assessment. * Must work effectively as a team member in finding solutions to problems. * Must work independently as well as with other employees and/or administrators in a positive, productive manner. * Current CPR card. DUTIES: * Observe individual students engaged in activities to assess performance. * Plan and carry out individual therapy programs or health-related procedures according to IEP goals or 504 plans under the direction of licensed staff. This may include, but is not limited to feeding, infection control, toileting, diapering, and administering medication. * Collaborate with licensed and receive special training to meet the unique needs of assigned students and to carry out services or meet student/child goals. * Fabricate or modify necessary adaptive equipment and assistive devices instructing students and staff in their use and care. * Assists licensed staff in testing and evaluation of individual students. * Assists with physical management of students including moving, positioning, feeding, and toileting or diapering. * Occasionally performs clean up after various student situations including, but not limited to hygiene, cleaning up bodily fluids, destruction of physical property. * Effectively performs tasks to supplement students\' basic instruction by offering students opportunities to practice and apply what they have learned, including social skills, life skills, and transition skills. * Actively assists licensed educators in both the general education and other resource spaces located throughout the school by supervision and assisting students individually and in small groups with classroom literacy, math activities, and social emotional learning and possibly positive behavioral intervention. * Follows prescribed daily individual and learning group instruction plans as outlined by school team members to present or reinforce learning concepts. * Efficiently performs tasks such as preparing materials, duplicating and operating audiovisual equipment. * Professionally supervise students in school buildings, buses, grounds, and field trips including but not limited to lunchrooms, and playground areas, assisting with fire drills, monitoring students in hallways, etc. * Maintain accurate records. * Maintain confidentiality in all areas. * Comply with all applicable district, state, and federal policies and laws. * Perform other duties as determined or assigned by the immediate supervisor.
