Robert Half Bookkeeper in Baltimore, Maryland

Description

We are in search of a Bookkeeper to join our team in the Non-Profit industry, located in Baltimore, Maryland. You will be tasked with various financial and administrative responsibilities, including the processing of operational activities for the accounting department, coordinating with business unit leaders, and providing support to Human Resources. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all bookkeeping responsibilities such as A/R, A/P, loan receivable, and construction finance related bookkeeping and reporting tasks.

• Conduct account reconciliations, including reconciliations of all subsidiary ledgers to the general ledger.

• Ensure proper recording, allocation, and reconciliation of capital and operating grants and contributions to the correct ledger accounts.

• Process bi-weekly payroll, employee benefits, and monitor payroll account funds.

• Ensure compliance with financial and contract reporting requirements for private or public funding, licensing, or regulatory agencies.

• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and cash flow projections for department managers.

• Coordinate with business unit leaders to ensure accuracy of invoices and vendor billing.

• Assist in the preparation for the annual financial audit.

• Maintain an appropriate filing system for expenses, contracts, and properties.

Requirements • Minimum of 2 years experience in a Bookkeeping role is required

• Proficiency in using accounting software, preferably QuickBooks

• Hands-on experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Proven ability to conduct Account Reconciliation and Bank Reconciliations

• Familiarity with financial reporting and general ledger

• Experience in managing payroll

• Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel for data entry and analysis

• Experience in handling Month End Close activities

• Knowledge of preparing Financial Statements and Annual Budget

• Working experience in a non-profit organization is a plus

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

• Proactive attitude with strong problem-solving skills.
