Job Title: Building Technician

Job Description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the general maintenance and orderliness of the property and oversight of the maintenance systems to ensure optimal operations and client/tenant satisfaction in accordance with department protocol. The role involves completion of work orders related to the physical maintenance and repairs of assigned buildings, utilizing work order software programs.

Responsibilities

  • Complete work orders for tasks related to the physical maintenance and repairs of assigned buildings.

  • Implement routine physical improvements.

  • Respond to emergency situations in accordance with departmental protocol.

  • Assist in establishing and maintaining all equipment, tools, supplies in stock, inventories, and logs.

  • Implement a comprehensive preventative maintenance plan and maintain all related records and logs.

  • Assist with controlling expenses associated with the operation of the buildings.

  • Communicate effectively regarding building status and changes.

  • Adhere to all safety standards, policies and procedures, codes of conduct, and best practices.

  • Act in a professional and courteous manner at all times with tenants, hospital clients, co-workers, vendors, and patients.

  • Utilize materials, supplies, tools, and other building property in a safe and productive manner.

  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • Basic HVAC, electrical, and plumbing knowledge.

  • Experience in building maintenance and use of standard maintenance tools.

  • Ability to complete tasks involving electrical, plumbing, painting, locksmith, drywall, carpentry, and mechanical troubleshooting.

  • High school graduate or GED required; technical school training in maintenance-related courses preferred.

  • CFC Handling Certification preferred.

  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn job-related software.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 24-hour availability for emergencies and as part of an on-call rotation.

  • Capable of extensive walking, climbing stairs and ladders, and lifting/carrying a minimum of 50 pounds.

  • Willingness to work overtime on special projects as required.

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

  • Hospital or lab experience is ideal.

Work Environment

You will be working in a office building. The typical work hours are from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to hire position based out of Baltimore, Maryland.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $33.00/hr.
