Johns Hopkins University Research Assistant in Baltimore, Maryland

We are seeking a Research Assistant in the Department of Radiation Oncology and Molecular Radiation Sciences at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine to assist with Neuro-Oncology research.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for data collection, data management, data analysis and statistical modeling for neuro-oncology and spine tumor research.

  • Will work closely with the principal investigator on research activities including a radio genomics clinical trial.

  • Very strong organizational skills, analytical and problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.

  • Adhere to strict confidentiality requirements.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.

  • Make independent judgments about data being analyzed and to act on decisions on a daily basis.

  • Prioritize personal workflow and the work of other staff as needed.

  • Work with flexibility on several tasks simultaneously and to meet various concurrent deadlines.

  • Ability to effectively interact and communicate with all levels of University and Hospital employees as well as outside contacts.

  • Potential opportunity to be first author of manuscript(s) as appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.

  • Additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with biostatistics is highly valued.

  • Interest and/or experience with neurosciences or oncology.

Starting Salary Range: $17.20 - $30.30 HRLY ($18,000 targeted; Commensurate with experience)

Employee group: Casual / On Call

Schedule: M-F, 8:30am - 5:00pm

Exempt Status: Non-Exempt
